Homework assignment 1:

According to the common core article, some teachers are excited about the new teaching standards.  That it came out the same time schools are integrading technology, like the Ipads.  It will give a student a deeper understanding of any subject they study and no more broad learning.  It will help a student to learn and keep the knowledge rather than just memorizing it for all standard testing.  it seems that CCSS will help every child gain a better understanding and enjoy school.

My concerns with common core is where will they actually start this program and then they just can't switch and will student who have been in school for a while who were not taught with CCSS, what happens to them?  Some also thought that the no child left behind was a good idea which meant teachers passing a child who still could not read, what will happen to these children who learn slower than others?  Another concern would be that common core was not even thought up by teachers but the "National Governors Assoc." who has never stepped foot in a classroom and why is the federal government all of a sudden want to change education, there is a thought of what behind the curtain that the government is not telling parents and teachers?
