Arts integration to enhance common core

This article gives some good ideas on how a teacher can use visual arts for teaching a lesson.  How drama can be used for mathematics and how music help with composition skills. I like the idea of using art to help children learn and broaden their horizon.  The part about how a child can become a chief instead of a cook is a really good analogy, they need to be taught to think for themselves and to create something of their own and not someone else ideas.  To use music and drawing and drama is the greatest idea to do plus children love to be active and draw, to dance and sing about the things they learn.  I have seen through my own children that they not only memorize but understand the lyrics to a song better than being told, the clean up song that they do for preschool kids is one of many ways that this has help children learn and understand.
