This article states that if and when a teacher is hard on his or her students they will become more likely to succeed in their life. Mr. K, as they call this particular teacher was very tough called them a few names. This today would send parents through the roof but it worked. Many of his students became highly respectable people and all attended his funeral saying yes he was hard but it made them a better person. It tells of how America today needs to go back to the way it used to be, not with punishment but with memorization and more hard core learning, be strict, praise them in a way where they know they can do better.
I completely agree with this article. I like the way I says that teachers need to be strict, to demand respect and show them how capable they really are. I student does not need to be pampered by their teacher, she or he is there to teach. I'm no sure I get the whole thing with "grit" but it sounds like an effective way to teach students.
